Pen-G-1cc per 100 pounds-Can be safely doubled, tripled dosage to 4cc per 50 pounds. Often given every 12 hours or every 24 hours.

Pen-H (Long Lasting Pen) 9cc per 60 pounds every 24 hours. Or divide in half and give every 12 hours (see below for treatment for Pneumonia or Listerosis)
Pnuemonia: 9cc per 60lb of goat every 24 hours(can be broken in half every 12 hours).
Listeriosis: 9-12cc IM or SQ per 60lb of goat every 6 hours until noted improvement, followed by half that amount every 12 hours for 7 days.(Other treatments, such as banamine and B-plex are recommended in conjuction for swelling of the brain and support)

Tylan 200-3cc per 50 pounds. Good for treatment of Pneumonia and Mycoplasma. Give SQ, this medicine does sting.

La200-4cc per 100 pounds-normally given every other day, great for the treatment of Pinkeye and some Pneumonia's, also Listerosis, but have found that it isn't as effective. In treatment of Listerosis, must be given every 12 hours. Give SQ, this medicine does sting.

Nuflor-1cc per 25 pounds-Good Antibotic, that most Pneumonia responds to. Given every other day, for two dosages. Give SQ, this medicine does sting.

Vitamins

A&D-1cc per 100 pounds-suggestions are to give it SQ, but have found IM is better with less side effects. Have heard of it given orally

B-Complex-3-5 cc per 60lb. of goat a day as a supportive dose.
For polio, dose thiamine at 10mg for every 2.2lbs of body weight every 6 hours for 24 hours.(Other treatments, such as Dex. or Bananime are recommended in conjunction for seizes and/or swelling of the brain)

Bose-1cc per 40 pounds of body weight-make sure that you weight the goat! This is one you want to underestimate verus overestimate.

Give all oral wormers on a empty stomach. For severe cases, you can give a second dose 12 hours later. Unless where noted.

Cydectin-1cc per 22 pounds (oral dosage)

Quest Horse Paste Wormer-(Moxidectin is the chemical, same one as Cydectin)-1cc per 110 pounds

Vaccines

CD&T-2cc regardless of weight. Booster 2cc 2 weeks later. Will cause a knot, but not as often as Covexin-8, make sure it contains Tetenus. (This is the vaccine that is most recommended for my area)

Covexin-8-5cc regardless of weight. Booster 2cc 4 weeks later. Given SQ, will cause a knot, but the best all around vaccine.

CD Antitoxin-Bottle says for preventive 10cc Sq. I give 1cc to newborns (Nigerians and Pgymy's) and 5 cc to the large breeds. I start with Toxid vaccines at 3 weeks of age.

Tetenus Antitoxin-1cc SQ.

Pasturella Pneumonia Vaccine-2cc SQ with booster in 14 days. Booster every 6 months. Booster for pregnant does 30 days prior to kidding. Will cause a knot, that does not abcess, may also cause limping.

PHM-the pneumonia vaccine(abbreviated), made by colorado vaccine, labeled for goats and protects against types p.Haemolytica and p.Multocida.
2cc every 14 days for a total of 2 initial shots. Booster every 6 months. Pregnant does get a booster 1 month before partition.

Various Treatment Suggestions
(I am not a vet but these are tried and true treatments that have worked for me)

Enterotoxemia: (as per Coni Ross{she is not a vet}) ~ 5cc CD antitoxin SQ, 5cc penicillin SQ, 5cc Penicillin and 10cc Pepto Bismol mixed and given oral.

*Magic Recipe ~ to be given at night
(provided by Yahoo Boer Goat Group)
1 pint of corn oil
1 pint of molasses
2 pints of Karo syrup
I warm it just a bit.
Give 2-3 ounces 3-4 times a day.

*Revive ~ to be given in the morning
(provided by Yahoo Boer Goat Group)
500ML 50% Dextrose
500ML Amino Acid Solution (50ml if it is the concentrate)
200ML Calcium Gluconate**
20ML B complex
2 grams Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) I use the injectable
5 ML B12 (3,000mcg/ml)
5ML 500mg/ml Thiamin*

Give 200cc 3X/day

Use a clean half gallon canning jar to make and store this. Keep in a cool dark place. B vitamins are destroyed by light.

Scald the jar with boiling water after you clean it, and turn it upside down on a clean towel. Scald the lid also. When you mix ingredients, do
not touch the mouth of the jar, or contaminate the contents. I store it in a dark place, because B vitamins are destroyed by light.

Do not add water to the Revive until you are ready to give it. Mix 50:50 with water. If you need to warm it, set it in a pan of hot water. DO NOT MICROWAVE.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

*If you buy the injectable, it is usually 4cc of the 500mg/ml vitamin C. If you need to use over the counter product, you can use the crushed
pills from the grocery store. I prefer the injectable, as I like to give it IM to does with mastitis, it really helps healing.

**Calcium Gluconate is not necessary in Revive unless the doe is exhibiting symptoms of calcium deficiency. The most common first symptom
is tender feet: Walking on egg shells.

Pink Eye Treatment (per Coni Ross)
10cc/100mg/ml Gentamycin (vet rx)
10cc/2mg/ml Dexamethazone(vet rx)
10cc distilled water

Place in spray bottle. Clean face with Listerine to get rid of drainage. Spray in eyes once a day. Store in the refrig when not using.
Other Options ~ LA 200 in the eye(from TSC)
triple antibiotic in the eye, LA200 2cc injection
Terramycin ointment in the eye (from TSC)
Tylan (antibiotic from TSC) in the eye
